How it started
KNITTING HOPE (a former program of well-known MISION HUASCARAN) is a non-profit organization that seeks to help people in rural areas of Peru (at an altitude up to 11,400 feet above sea level). Thanks to the generous contribution and support of individuals and volunteers. BONNETS OF HOPE BY EVA is an initiative founded in 2020 by Junior Equestrian Eva Paliouras.
BONNETS OF HOPE BY EVA promotes knitted products made by local women who strive to be self-sustained and empower themselves. The idea is to give them more opportunities initially by teaching them how to make bonnets (hats for horses) which were commercialized and promoted in the International equestrian world; now they make different products like pouches and purses. All profits go to Knitting Hope. BONNETS OF HOPE sold over 100 bonnets a year and now seeks to keep promoting accessories in the International equestrian community.
